Where it came from
The Blue Snaggletooth Pop! Pez #69 is part of the Funko Pop! Pez line, a crossover series that combines the company's signature stylized vinyl aesthetics with the nostalgic mechanics of Pez candy dispensers. Produced under the Star Wars license, this figure draws inspiration from the character Zutton, an alien bounty hunter who appeared briefly in the Mos Eisley Cantina scene in the original 1977 Star Wars film. The character gained cult status among collectors due to a legendary 1978 Kenner action figure release that erroneously featured a blue jumpsuit and tall stature, a creative departure from the character's actual appearance in the film.
Funko’s design team utilized the iconic 'Blue Snaggletooth' color palette as a deliberate nod to the original Kenner manufacturing error, transforming a vintage collector's curiosity into a modern collectible. By pairing the character with the classic Pez dispenser format, Funko aimed to appeal to fans of Star Wars memorabilia and retro pop culture branding. Like many figures in the Pop! Pez series, it was designed to function both as a display piece and a functional candy container, reflecting Funko’s ongoing effort to bridge the gap between contemporary vinyl toys and legacy toy collectibles.
