Where it came from
Released in September 2019, the Series 19 Collectible Minifigures (set 71025) marked the nineteenth installment in LEGO's long-running blind-bagged series. This series was designed to showcase a eclectic array of original characters, ranging from a video game champion and a shower guy to a dog sitter and a mountain biker. The collection was developed to provide fans with unique accessories and highly detailed torso prints that were distinct from the licensed themes like Star Wars or Marvel that dominate the LEGO catalog.
The design team focused on playful, character-driven concepts that emphasized personality through elaborate hairpieces, animal companions, and specialized printed elements. Series 19 is particularly noted among collectors for including a 'Fright Knight' character, which served as a nostalgic nod to the classic Castle theme from the 1990s. Upon its release, the series was well received by the adult collector community for its variety and the inclusion of rare molded parts, solidifying its place as a staple of the blind-bag marketing model.
