Where it came from
Released in September 2019, the Series 19 Collectible Minifigures (set 71025) marked the nineteenth installment in LEGO's long-running blind-bagged character line. This series was designed to showcase a diverse array of whimsical and original concepts, ranging from historical archetypes like the Fright Knight to modern cultural nods such as the Video Game Champ and the Dog Sitter. Unlike licensed themes that rely on existing intellectual properties, Series 19 leaned into the creative freedom of the LEGO design team to experiment with unique molds and intricate printing techniques.
The development of this series focused on expanding the versatility of the minifigure medium, introducing new accessories and updated costume elements that collectors often integrate into larger custom dioramas. Reception among the fan community was largely positive, with particular interest directed toward the complex costume designs, such as the Monkey King and the Pizza Costume Guy. As a sealed box, this item represents a complete collection of the sixteen individual figures plus potential duplicates, preserved in the original retail distribution format.
