Where it came from
Released in 2020, the Series 20 LEGO Collectible Minifigures line marked a decade since the inception of the blind-bag series, which first launched in 2010. This set was designed to celebrate the milestone by offering a diverse array of sixteen unique characters, including thematic figures like the Drone Boy, the Viking, and the retro-inspired Space Fan. It emerged during a period where LEGO sought to balance modern play interests with nostalgic nods to the company's long history.
The design of Series 20 was crafted to emphasize variety and inclusivity, reflecting the evolution of the LEGO aesthetic over the previous ten years. The collection was well-received by the enthusiast community, particularly for its inventive character designs and accessories that allowed builders to populate their existing LEGO cities with more nuanced, personality-driven individuals. The series remains a notable entry in the blind-bag format for its commemorative nature and high level of detail on small-scale figures.
