Where it came from
Released in 2020 to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the LEGO Collectible Minifigure line, Series 20 continued the tradition of offering unique, character-driven figures in mystery blind bags. This series was designed to celebrate the milestone by featuring a diverse mix of original concepts, including references to historic sets, modern hobbies, and whimsical archetypes. The development of these figures reflected the design team's focus on high-detail printing and specialized accessories, which had become the hallmark of the collectible series since its inception in 2010.
The collection was well-received by the enthusiast community, particularly for its blend of nostalgia and contemporary themes. Figures such as the 80s-inspired Breakdancer, the Tournament Knight, and the Viking represent the balance between historical fantasy and pop culture tributes. By utilizing randomized distribution, LEGO maintained the scavenger-hunt appeal that has driven the popularity of the blind bag format for over a decade, allowing collectors to engage with the brand's expansive character library in a compact, accessible form.
