Where it came from
Released in early 2024, the Series 25 Collectible Minifigures (71045) marked a significant shift in LEGO's packaging strategy. The traditional blind bags were phased out in favor of eco-friendly, recyclable cardboard boxes to align with the company's sustainability goals. This specific item, 66763-1, acts as a retail convenience pack, aggregating six individual blind boxes to help collectors jump-start their pursuit of the twelve unique character designs featured in the wave.
The series was designed to showcase a diverse range of imaginative archetypes, including the Gothic Horror-inspired Vampire Knight, the retro-space themed Robot Butler, and the fan-favorite Mushroom Sprite. These figures were crafted by the LEGO design team to maximize playability through unique accessory pairings and intricate molded elements. Upon release, the series received praise from the collector community for its high level of detail, although the change to opaque packaging initially caused debate regarding the difficulty of identifying specific figures without tactile or technological assistance.
