Where it came from
Abundance was originally printed in the Urza's Saga expansion in 1998, but this specific version appeared in the 2016 Duel Decks: Nissa vs. Ob Nixilis product. Designed as a fixed, pre-constructed battle between two iconic planeswalkers, the set was intended to offer a balanced play experience that showcased the mechanical identities of Nissa Revane's land-focused green strategy and Ob Nixilis's demonic, sacrifice-oriented black strategy.
The artwork for this printing features the signature style established during the set's development, emphasizing the thematic contrast between the two characters. While the card's mechanics—allowing players to replace draws with specific card types—remained consistent with its original printing, the aesthetic update was designed to align with the visual standards of the modern Magic: The Gathering era, serving as a functional utility piece within the duel deck's specific ecosystem.
