Where it came from
Abundance was originally introduced in the Urza's Saga expansion in 1998, designed as part of a cycle of cards intended to offer players utility and resource management. The card allows players to exchange the standard draw mechanic for a targeted selection of either lands or non-land cards, providing significant deck consistency for green-aligned strategies in Magic: The Gathering.
The version from Zendikar Rising Commander, collector number 58, features updated artwork by Volkan Baga. This printing was released in 2020 as part of the Land's Wrath commander deck, designed to integrate seamlessly into the set's landfall-focused mechanics. Baga’s illustration maintains the card's thematic focus on nature's growth, presented with the clean, modern card frame standards established for the contemporary Commander format.
