Where it came from
Aura Mutation was originally printed in the 2000 Invasion expansion, designed as an instant-speed removal spell that rewards the player with a Saproling token. It reflects the set's focus on multicolored cards and the themes of the Selesnya-aligned factions of the era, combining green's natural affinity for destroying enchantments with white's ability to generate creature tokens.
The version from New Capenna Commander, numbered 328, features updated artwork that integrates the aesthetic of the plane of New Capenna. This reprint maintains the functional identity of the card while aligning it with the art deco and noir-inspired visual language established for the setting, serving as a utilitarian tool for green-white decks in the Commander format.
