Where it came from
Battlefield Forge was originally introduced in the 2003 set Eighth Edition as a way to provide mana-fixing lands for decks utilizing red and white mana. Its inclusion in The Brothers' War Promos as card number 257p ties it to the thematic retelling of the ancient conflict between Urza and Mishra, representing the mechanized conflict that defines the lore of Magic: The Gathering's history.
The 257p promo version features artwork that aligns with the aesthetic of The Brothers' War, emphasizing the industrial and brutal nature of the setting. These promotional prints are typically distributed through Wizards of the Coast's organized play channels, intended to reward players for participation in events during the set's release window, thereby serving as both functional game pieces and collectibles.
