Provenance

Where it came from

The Bird token with collector number 9 was introduced in 2024 as part of the Modern Horizons 3 set for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. Tokens in this set serve as visual representations of creatures created by other spells or abilities during gameplay, and they are intentionally designed to distinguish themselves from the main deck cards while maintaining the thematic aesthetic of the broader Modern Horizons expansion.

The artwork for this specific token adheres to the modern visual standards set by Wizards of the Coast for their supplemental releases. Like other tokens in the set, it was created to provide a functional and thematic accessory for players engaging with the new mechanics introduced in Modern Horizons 3, serving as a utilitarian piece that reflects the high production values of contemporary Magic: The Gathering releases.
