What it does
If an opponent would mill one or more cards, they mill twice that many cards instead. (To mill a card, a player puts the top card of their library into their graveyard.)

Where it came from
Bruvac the Grandiloquent was released as part of the Jumpstart set in 2020, designed by Wizards of the Coast to facilitate a unique, randomized format where players combine two distinct theme packs to create a functional deck. Within the context of Magic: The Gathering's modern design philosophy, Bruvac serves as a specialized commander for mill-themed strategies, effectively doubling the speed at which opponents discard their libraries. The card was crafted to provide a definitive centerpiece for a niche playstyle, catering specifically to players who enjoy resource denial and alternative win conditions.
The character design reflects the whimsical yet arcane aesthetic common to the set, utilizing the recognizable artistic style associated with Magic's contemporary visual direction. Upon its introduction, the card gained significant recognition within the Commander format, where its ability to manipulate deck depletion mechanics made it a highly sought-after, if polarizing, inclusion. Its reception has been largely defined by its utility in dedicated decks, solidifying its place as a staple for players prioritizing efficient library destruction strategies.
