Change of Fortune

Change of Fortune was released in the 2022 set Innistrad: Double Feature, a unique compilation that combined cards from the Innistrad: Midnight Hunt and Innistrad: Crimson Vow expansions. The set was designed as a thematic homage to classic black-and-white horror cinema, featuring a distinctive silver-screen foil treatment and grayscale artwork. This specific card was intended to provide a specialized visual variant for players and collectors who appreciated the gothic, atmospheric aesthetic of the Innistrad plane.

The card’s design retains the original illustration from its initial release, focusing on the dark, eerie tone synonymous with the Innistrad setting. The silver-screen treatment was intended to evoke the visual style of early monster movies, applying a monochromatic filter to the card’s art to differentiate it from the standard color versions. Upon release, the set was noted by the community for its niche visual style, appealing primarily to those interested in artistic variants rather than mechanical reprints.
