Craw Wurm

Craw Wurm originated in the Alpha set of Magic: The Gathering in 1993, designed by Richard Garfield as a foundational green creature that emphasized brute strength. By the time it was included in the Ninth Edition core set in 2005, it had become a quintessential example of a 'vanilla' creature, lacking complex abilities but serving as a reliable mid-game threat that taught new players the value of high power and toughness ratios.

The Ninth Edition illustration was rendered by artist Richard Sardinha, who depicted the creature with a focus on its intimidating, serpentine scale.
