What it does
The most terrifying thing about the craw wurm is probably the horrible crashing sound it makes as it speeds through the forest. This noise is so loud it echoes through the trees and seems to come from all directions at once.

Where it came from
Craw Wurm debuted in the original Limited Edition Alpha set of Magic: The Gathering in 1993, quickly becoming a quintessential example of the game's early green creatures. By the time the Tenth Edition was released in 2007 as a core set, the card had been through various iterations, serving as a reliable, high-power common that taught new players the value of mana ramp and creature combat.
The Tenth Edition printing features artwork by Steve Argyle, who reimagined the classic creature with a focus on its imposing, subterranean nature. His design emphasizes the Wurm's massive scale and predatory movement, moving away from the more stylized, abstract depictions found in earlier sets to provide a grounded, visceral look that defined the visual identity of the game's mid-2000s era.
