Provenance

Where it came from

The Demon token, numbered 6 in the Innistrad Remastered set, serves as an essential companion piece for Magic: The Gathering gameplay. Released in 2025, this set was designed to condense the gothic horror aesthetic and mechanical complexity of the original Innistrad block into a curated draft experience. Tokens like this one are produced to represent transient creatures created by specific spells or abilities during a game, ensuring players can visually track the battlefield state.

The art featured on these tokens leans into the iconic, dark fantasy imagery that defines the Innistrad plane. Illustrators for the series generally aim to evoke a sense of unease, utilizing muted palettes and jagged forms to reflect the world's thematic focus on horror tropes. The design is intended to feel consistent with the broader Magic: The Gathering art direction, where every visual element must remain legible at a small scale while maintaining the sinister tone appropriate for a demonic summon.
