Elemental

The Elemental token, numbered 10 in the Commander 2020 release, was produced by Wizards of the Coast for use in the Magic: The Gathering card game. Tokens are essential utility items in the game, acting as physical placeholders for creatures or objects created by the abilities of spells and permanents during a match. This specific iteration was designed to support the mechanics introduced in the Commander 2020 decks, which focused on the Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths set and the keyword abilities associated with that environment.

The visual design of this token reflects the aesthetic direction of the Ikoria-themed expansion, emphasizing the vibrant, primal nature of the plane's inhabitants. While individual token illustrations are often collaborative efforts within the Wizards of the Coast art department, the art direction for this set aimed to create a cohesive, monstrous identity for the creatures residing in the wilderness of Ikoria. Upon release, players generally received these tokens as part of pre-constructed decks, where they serve as standardized, functional components for gameplay rather than individual collectible art pieces.
