Force of Nature was originally printed as a rare creature in the 1993 Limited Edition Alpha set, serving as a quintessential example of the high-risk, high-reward design philosophy prevalent in early Magic: The Gathering. As one of the most powerful green threats of its era, the card showcased the game's intent to pair immense combat statistics with significant drawbacks, specifically the requirement to pay upkeep costs or suffer damage.
