Forest // Forest

The Zendikar Rising Art Series was released in 2020 as a thematic celebration of the Zendikar plane, a world defined by its wild, untamed landscapes and shifting geography. This specific card represents a double-sided Forest, a staple of the land card cycle within Magic: The Gathering, designed to offer players a premium, borderless version of the most fundamental resource in the game. The inclusion of these art cards in Collector Boosters was intended to showcase the intricate, atmospheric work commissioned specifically for the set's return to this iconic setting.

The visual identity of this piece reflects the high-fantasy aesthetic established by Wizards of the Coast for the Zendikar environment, focusing on the crystalline structures and lush, floating flora characteristic of the region. The design emphasizes a wide-angle view, prioritizing the immersive quality of the landscape art over the standard mechanical text found on gameplay cards. It was well received by the community for its artistic fidelity and the decision to offer these pieces as standalone art objects, providing a tangible way for collectors to appreciate the detailed world-building that goes into every Magic expansion.
