The Neon Dynasty Art Series, released by Wizards of the Coast in 2022, was designed to showcase the intricate visual identity of the Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty expansion. These cards were distributed exclusively in collector boosters, featuring full-art illustrations without the standard card frame or text boxes that typically populate gameplay cards. This release sought to emphasize the blend of traditional Japanese aesthetics and high-tech cyberpunk motifs that defined the set, turning functional game components into standalone art objects.

The Forest featured in the Art Series was illustrated by artist Junggeun Yoon, who leaned into the dualistic nature of Kamigawa’s landscape. The design focuses on the serene, natural beauty of a forest setting juxtaposed with the subtle, futuristic influence of the Neon Dynasty setting. Upon its release, the card was received warmly by collectors who appreciated the opportunity to view Yoon's landscape work on an enlarged, clean canvas, cementing its place as a centerpiece of the set's artistic collection.
