Provenance

Where it came from

The Frog Lizard token, collector number 28, was released in 2024 as part of the Bloomburrow Commander set for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. It was designed to represent a specific creature type introduced or supported by the mechanics of the Bloomburrow expansion, which features a whimsical, woodland-themed aesthetic inspired by folklore and classic animal literature.

The artwork follows the set's distinct illustrative style, characterized by a soft, storybook-inspired aesthetic that distinguishes Bloomburrow from the more traditional high-fantasy themes found in other Magic sets. Created to function as a physical game piece for gameplay effects, it serves as a functional companion to the set's primary cards, intended to provide clarity on the battlefield while contributing to the immersive flavor of the plane.
