These decks were produced by Wizards of the Coast to replicate the exact lists used by the top eight players during the Magic: The Gathering World Championship held in Sydney, Australia. Each deck features silver-bordered cards with gold signatures of the professional players who piloted them, serving as a distinct memento of high-level competitive play rather than standard expansion cards.

The illustration for Gainsay was commissioned from artist Roger Raupp, who captured the card's theme of magical interference and counter-magic.
