Where it came from
Gigantic is one of the distinct 'front cards' introduced in the Jumpstart 2022 set for Magic: The Gathering. These cards were designed to serve as the thematic face of the randomized deck packets, allowing players to instantly identify the archetype of their pack, such as the 'Big' deck in this instance. The set was created to streamline the popular Jumpstart play experience, offering a mix of new card designs alongside thematic reprints.
The art and design for the set were managed by Wizards of the Coast's internal creative teams, aiming for a high-energy, vibrant aesthetic that characterizes modern Magic expansions. As a utility-focused card designed primarily for the Jumpstart format, Gigantic was received by the player base as a functional component intended to facilitate quick deck-building and promote the chaotic, synergistic gameplay that the series is known for.
