Where it came from
Harbin, Vanguard Aviator was released as part of The Brothers' War expansion for Magic: The Gathering in late 2022. This specific variant is a promotional card featuring unique artwork that distinguishes it from the standard version found in the set's main release, serving as a collectible highlight for players and collectors who value thematic alternate illustrations.
The character Harbin represents a key figure in the lore of the Brothers' War, the conflict between Urza and Mishra that defined the history of the plane of Dominaria. The design emphasizes his role as an aerial commander, utilizing the signature art style established for this set's promotional cards to evoke the retro-futuristic aesthetic of early Magic: The Gathering expansions while maintaining modern card design standards.
