Where it came from
Ivy, Gleeful Spellthief was released in 2022 as part of the Magic: The Gathering set Dominaria United. The card represents a character tied to the rich lore of the plane of Dominaria, designed to bridge the mechanics of green and blue mana through a unique ability that allows the player to copy targeted spells when they involve another creature they control. This card occupies the rare slot in the set and reflects the game's ongoing focus on providing commanders that encourage specific, synergy-heavy playstyles.
The artwork for this card was created by illustrative artist Livia Prima, who has contributed extensively to the Magic: The Gathering franchise.
