Ivy, Gleeful Spellthief // Ivy, Gleeful Spellthief

Ivy, Gleeful Spellthief was introduced as part of the Dominaria United Art Series, a collection of cards featuring full-art illustrations without the game text found on standard Magic: The Gathering cards. Released in September 2022, this series was designed to showcase the intricate artwork produced for the Dominaria United expansion, allowing players and collectors to appreciate the visual storytelling of the set as standalone art pieces.

The illustration was created by artist Alayna Danner, who rendered Ivy with a whimsical and vibrant aesthetic that aligns with the character's role as a legendary creature in the set. Danner’s design emphasizes the character's connection to nature and magic, utilizing soft lighting and detailed foliage to evoke the lush, storied landscapes of the Dominaria plane. The card was well-received by the community for its high-quality print finish and the opportunity it provided to display Magic artwork in a more decorative, gallery-style format.
