Jadzi, Oracle of Arcavios // Journey to the Oracle

Jadzi, Oracle of Arcavios was introduced in the 2021 Magic: The Gathering set Strixhaven: School of Mages, representing a legendary figure from the prismari-aligned lore of Arcavios. This specific iteration, featuring the distinct promo frame treatment, was released as part of the set's expanded collectible offerings to highlight the 'Mage Tower' and special academic themes intrinsic to the university setting. The card utilizes the double-faced mechanic, allowing players to transition between the creature Jadzi and the powerful sorcery Journey to the Oracle, reflecting the character's role as a scholarly seeker of ancient knowledge.

The artwork for this piece was crafted by Magali Villeneuve, a prominent illustrator in the hobbyist gaming space known for her evocative, painterly style that emphasizes character personality and atmospheric lighting. Villeneuve's design for Jadzi focuses on the arcane elegance of Strixhaven, utilizing the set's signature aesthetic of magical academia and flowing robes. Upon release, the card design was well-received by the commander format community, who praised the synergy between its two faces and the depth of its storytelling potential within the broader Strixhaven narrative.
