Where it came from
Jadzi, Steward of Fate was introduced in the 2021 Magic: The Gathering set Strixhaven: School of Mages, representing the dean of the Prismari college. This double-faced card design reflects the set's central theme of magical academia, where creatures can manifest their expertise as distinct spells. The card was crafted to showcase the aesthetic identity of the Prismari, blending elemental art with the mechanical complexity of card-advantage engines.
The promotional variant, numbered 55p, features the unique 'Secrets of Strixhaven' art style, which utilizes a mystical, frame-breaking aesthetic meant to evoke ancient scrolls and forbidden research. This treatment was designed by the Wizards of the Coast art team to differentiate collector-focused variants from the standard set printings. Upon release, players noted the card's intricate utility, valuing it as both a centerpiece for Commander decks and a visual standout within the broader Strixhaven promotional catalog.
