Where it came from
The Onulet card originated as part of the 1994 Summer Magic set, also colloquially known as Edgar. Produced by Wizards of the Coast for the international market, this set was an attempt to replenish stock and rectify printing errors found in earlier runs of the game. It is visually distinguished by a slightly altered, paler card back compared to the standard printings of the era.
The Onulet itself is a creature card defined by its artifact nature and its ability to provide life gain upon entering the graveyard. The illustration, created by artist Anson Maddocks, features a distinctive, surreal aesthetic typical of the game's early visual identity. While it was not a centerpiece of competitive play, it remains a notable example of the whimsical creature designs that characterized the early expansions of the trading card game.
