Provenance

Where it came from

Parasitic Impetus was released in 2024 as part of the Ravnica: Clue Edition, a standalone Magic: The Gathering product that blends the mechanics of the collectible card game with the thematic structure of the board game Clue. The card is a reprint of an aura enchantment originally debuting in the Commander 2020 product, designed to force creatures to attack players other than the controller, thereby encouraging chaos and table-wide interaction.

The art for this specific printing reflects the gothic, urban aesthetic of the Ravnica plane, emphasizing the parasitic nature of the card's effect. Within the Ravnica: Clue Edition, the card functions as both a gameplay tool and a thematic element of the murder-mystery investigation, fitting into a design framework intended to bridge the gap between traditional competitive play and narrative-driven social gaming.
