Sacred Foundry

Sacred Foundry was originally introduced in the 2005 Ravnica: City of Guilds expansion as part of the initial cycle of shock lands, which are dual-colored lands capable of providing two different colors of mana. These cards were designed to anchor the Boros Legion, a guild defined by their militaristic structure and red-white color identity. The design concept focused on high-stakes resource management, requiring players to pay two life to keep the land untapped, a mechanic that has since become a hallmark of competitive play across multiple formats.

The Ravnica Remastered version, featuring collector number 409z, serves as a retrospective tribute to the original aesthetic while refining the visual clarity expected in contemporary card design. The illustration honors the architectural intensity of the Boros stronghold, emphasizing the industrial and sacred fusion that characterizes the Ravnica plane. This release was intended for both long-term collectors and players seeking updated, stylistically cohesive versions of essential gameplay staples that have maintained their relevance for nearly two decades.
