Where it came from
Shiny Impetus was first introduced to the Magic: The Gathering ecosystem in the 2020 Commander Legends set, designed to provide players with a versatile Aura that encourages aggression among opponents. The card functions as a political tool in multiplayer formats, forcing a creature to attack while simultaneously granting its controller a treasure token, thereby balancing the pressure of the attack with a tangible resource reward.
The version included in the 2024 Ravnica: Clue Edition features a thematic frame reflecting the set's unique blend of Ravnican guild aesthetics and the mechanics of the classic board game. This release sought to integrate familiar Magic staples into a standalone murder-mystery experience, with the card art maintaining the vibrant, high-fantasy style synonymous with modern card illustration. It was received by the community as a functional inclusion for Commander decks that utilize Goad mechanics to disrupt board states.
