Stone Rain

Stone Rain was released in 1994 as part of the Summer Magic set, also colloquially known as Edgar. This set was a limited-run print of the revised edition, commissioned by Wizards of the Coast for the Spanish-speaking market, specifically intended to correct translation errors found in earlier releases. Despite its initial purpose as a localized reprint, the set gained notoriety among collectors due to a unique manufacturing error where many of the cards were printed with a distinct, lighter color palette compared to their standard counterparts.

The card features artwork by Christopher Rush, one of the most prolific and iconic illustrators in the early history of the game. His depiction of Stone Rain captures the visceral, destructive essence of the spell, utilizing a stark and evocative style that defined the visual language of the game's formative years. While the card is a mechanical staple representing land destruction, the Summer Magic version is particularly prized by enthusiasts for its rarity and its status as a historical curiosity within the broader scope of Magic: The Gathering card history.
