Provenance

Where it came from

The Time Vault was originally released in the 1993 Alpha set for Magic: The Gathering, designed by Richard Garfield to be a high-cost, high-reward artifact. It quickly became infamous for its potential to grant extra turns, a mechanic that defined its status as a powerful and highly restricted card throughout the game's early history.

The 30th Anniversary Edition version, released in 2022, serves as a commemorative tribute to these formative years. While it utilizes the classic artwork by Mark Tedin, this specific printing features a distinct card back to signify its non-tournament-legal status, intended primarily for collectors who value the aesthetic history of the original Power Nine and associated iconic cards.
