Time Walk

Time Walk was originally released in 1993 as part of the Alpha set for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game, designed by Richard Garfield. As one of the 'Power Nine,' a group of cards widely considered the most influential and powerful in the game's history, it earned a reputation for its extreme efficiency by allowing a player to take an extra turn for a very low mana cost. The card's aesthetic, featuring the iconic illustration by Amy Weber, captures a sense of arcane temporal manipulation that remains central to the game's early identity.

The 30th Anniversary Edition, which includes this version of Time Walk, was released by Wizards of the Coast in 2022 to commemorate three decades of the game. Designed as a non-tournament-legal collector's piece, the set recreates the visual style of the original 1993 cards while utilizing a distinct card back to differentiate it from vintage printings. This edition was created to provide collectors with a way to own the visual legacy of the game's rarest cards, though its release sparked significant debate within the community regarding its accessibility and historical reverence.
