Tormenting Voice

Tormenting Voice first appeared in the Khans of Tarkir expansion in 2014, designed as a common-rarity sorcery to provide card selection for red decks. It reflects a shift in Magic: The Gathering's mechanical color identity, allowing red to exchange cards in hand to draw new ones, a thematic representation of frantic, desperate action. The card features artwork by Dan Scott, who illustrates a figure in the midst of a volatile, magical eruption, capturing the chaotic nature of the spell's effect.

This specific printing originates from the 2018 Game Night box set, a standalone product intended to introduce new players to the game in a casual, social environment. The card was reprinted here to provide functional utility within the preconstructed decks included in the box. While the card is a standard inclusion in many red deck-building toolkits, this version is distinguished by the expansion symbol unique to the Game Night set, catering to collectors who focus on specific set-based iterations of popular utility cards.
