Undiscovered Paradise

Undiscovered Paradise was originally released as a rare land card in the 1997 Visions expansion for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. This specific version, labeled with collector number bs167, originates from the 1998 World Championship Decks. These decks were produced by Wizards of the Coast as pre-constructed replicas, designed to mirror the exact lists used by the top players at the 1998 World Championships, allowing the general public to experience professional-level deck composition.

The card features artwork by artist Donato Giancola, whose evocative style became a hallmark of the game during this era. The design of the card itself focuses on utility, offering players access to any color of mana at the cost of returning the card to their hand, a mechanic that emphasizes strategic tempo management. Within the context of the 1998 World Championship Decks, the card is easily identified by its unique gold-bordered frame and the signature of the professional player who included it in their deck, serving as a commemorative artifact of that year's tournament meta.
