Where it came from
Virtue of Loyalty // Ardenvale Fealty was released as part of the Wilds of Eldraine set in 2023, serving as a prominent Enchantment card within the mechanics of the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. The set draws heavy inspiration from classic fairy tales and Arthurian legend, reimagining these motifs through a whimsical and slightly darker fantasy lens. This specific promotional version, designated by the 'p' suffix, features distinct borderless artwork designed to appeal to collectors who value unique visual aesthetics in their gaming decks.
The card was designed by Wizards of the Coast as part of the Enchanting Tales bonus sheet, a collection of cards meant to highlight the role of enchantments in the Eldraine plane. The art direction emphasizes the regal and protective themes associated with the White mana color identity, utilizing intricate, storybook-style illustrations that contrast sharply with the standard card frames. Upon its debut, the card was well-received by both competitive players for its utility in board-state stabilization and by collectors for its role as a decorative centerpiece within the broader expansion.
