Wall of Air

Wall of Air was originally printed in the 1994 Summer Magic set, also colloquially known as Edgar. This set was produced as a replacement for the plagued Revised Edition, intended to correct numerous printing errors, miscolored cards, and inconsistent art. Because of a widespread recall and subsequent destruction of the majority of the stock, the cards from this printing run became exceedingly rare, turning a standard functional card into a significant collector's piece.

The card features artwork by Dan Frazier, a prominent contributor to early Magic: The Gathering. Frazier’s design for this card utilizes a minimalist, illustrative style typical of the game's first two years, aiming to depict the abstract concept of a defensive magical barrier. While the card mechanics were considered modest in power, the aesthetic design represents the distinct visual identity of the mid-1990s era of the game, cementing its place in the history of trading card art.
