Wolf

The Wolf token, assigned collector number 18 within the Innistrad Remastered token set, was released by Wizards of the Coast to support the mechanics introduced in the Magic: The Gathering expansion. This set serves as a curated retrospective of the gothic horror-themed Innistrad plane, aggregating iconic imagery and mechanical support cards from previous sets like the original 2011 Innistrad block and Shadows over Innistrad. The token is designed to represent the various creatures summoned by cards such as Wolfbitten Captive or Immerwolf, maintaining the consistent visual language of the plane's eerie wilderness.

The art direction for this token follows the established aesthetic of the Innistrad setting, which emphasizes a dark, misty, and foreboding atmosphere inspired by classical folklore and Victorian-era horror. By commissioning new or utilizing existing stylistic illustrations, the developers aimed to ground the player experience in the plane's high-stakes survival narrative. Upon its release, the Innistrad Remastered set was received by the community as a cohesive tribute to the plane’s legacy, with its tokens serving as essential functional and narrative components for players engaging with the game's creature-summoning mechanics.
