Wurm

The Wurm token, assigned collector number 16 in the Commander Anthology Volume II set, was released by Wizards of the Coast in 2018. This compilation set was designed to provide players with access to four previously released, fan-favorite preconstructed Commander decks, updated with new foil commanders and a curated selection of supplemental materials, including tokens to represent various game effects.

The design of this specific Wurm token reflects the aesthetic standards established by the Magic: The Gathering art department during the late 2010s. Like many supplemental tokens in the Commander product line, it was created to provide functional utility for players using cards that generate 6/6 Wurm creatures, such as Worldspine Wurm or various spells that produce similar tokens. The illustration focuses on conveying the imposing, terrestrial nature of the creature, consistent with the visual language of the game's creature type archetypes.
