Moriarty the Patriot, Vol. 20

Moriarty the Patriot, Volume 20, represents a significant installment in the manga series written by Ryōsuke Takeuchi and illustrated by Hikaru Miyoshi. First serialized in Jump Square starting in 2016, the series reimagines Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes canon by shifting the perspective to the antagonist, William James Moriarty. This volume continues the series' exploration of class struggle in Victorian-era England, framing Moriarty as a revolutionary seeking to dismantle the rigid British social hierarchy through elaborate, often lethal schemes.

The visual aesthetic of the series, defined by Miyoshi’s intricate character designs and gothic atmosphere, has been a key factor in its commercial success. The manga was adapted into an anime series and several stage plays, contributing to its global recognition as a modern take on the mystery genre. This volume maintains the established tone of dark political intrigue and complex moral dilemmas that fans of the series have come to expect, further developing the core conflict between the titular anti-hero and his famous rival.
