Theodoe Körner's sämmtliche werke

Theodor Körner’s sämmtliche werke represents the comprehensive literary output of the German poet and soldier, best known for his patriotic verse composed during the Napoleonic Wars. These collected works were typically issued in various editions throughout the 19th century, serving as a pillar of German cultural heritage and national identity. The volumes gathered his dramas, lyric poetry, and prose, which were widely circulated to memorialize his status as a heroic figure who died in battle for the liberation movement.

The editorial style of these collections often emphasized the romantic and nationalist fervor characteristic of the early 19th-century German literary movement. Publishers frequently curated these editions to highlight Körner's role as a symbol of sacrifice, incorporating biographical sketches that framed his writing within the struggle against French occupation. They remain scholarly touchstones for understanding the intersection of romanticism, political activism, and the development of the German national canon during the post-Napoleonic era.
