Eustass"Captain"Kid

The Eustass 'Captain' Kid character card (ST02-013) was released as part of the 'Worst Generation' Starter Deck (ST-02) for the One Piece Card Game, which debuted in late 2022. This set was designed to introduce players to the mechanics of the game, focusing on the volatile and ambitious pirate crews introduced during the Sabaody Archipelago arc. The card features artwork consistent with the character's post-time skip appearance, emphasizing his aggressive personality and his magnetic abilities, which are central to his reputation as one of the infamous Eleven Supernovas.

The design of the card emphasizes a high-power, defensive playstyle, reflecting Kid’s role as a resilient captain within the game's mechanics. The art direction for the 'Worst Generation' set sought to capture the grit and intensity of the manga's source material, opting for a clean, bold aesthetic that highlights the character’s metallic arm and signature goggles. Upon its release, the card was well-received by players for its tactical utility and its faithfulness to Eiichiro Oda’s character design, solidifying its place as a staple for green-aligned decks during the game's early competitive seasons.
