Where it came from
The Tsuru card, identified as OP02-106, was released in 2023 as part of the One Piece Card Game's Event Pack series. These cards were distributed to participants of official organized play events, serving as a promotional incentive to encourage competitive engagement within the community. The release coincided with the early expansion phase of the game, which quickly gained traction for its accessible mechanics and vibrant artwork based on Eiichiro Oda's long-running manga series.
The design features Tsuru, the esteemed Vice Admiral of the Marines, rendered in the distinct aesthetic style established for the game's core character sets. Illustrators for the series generally aim to capture the commanding presence and tactical focus of high-ranking characters while maintaining a consistent visual language that distinguishes various factions. The card is a reprint variant intended to offer players functional utility in deck-building while providing collectors with a unique, event-exclusive version of a recurring character.
