Where it came from
Tsuru (OP02-106) was released as part of the Premium Booster -The Best- set for the One Piece Card Game. The card features the Marine Vice Admiral Tsuru, a veteran strategist known for her 'Wash-Wash Fruit' abilities. This particular iteration utilizes the sought-after Jolly Roger foil treatment, an aesthetic design choice applied to select cards within the set to commemorate the game's anniversary and provide collectors with a more tactile, premium texture compared to standard holofoil cards.
The character design remains faithful to Eiichiro Oda’s original manga illustrations, emphasizing Tsuru's stern yet composed demeanor. In the competitive meta, the card is valued for its utility in lowering the cost of opposing characters, reflecting the character's tactical nature in the source material. Upon its release, the card was well-received by the player base both for its strategic gameplay applications and as a prestige item for collectors interested in high-rarity variants of prominent Marine characters.
