Yamato

The Yamato character card, numbered OP01-121, debuted as a Secret Rare inclusion in the first set of the One Piece Card Game, Romance Dawn, released in late 2022. This set was designed to introduce the game mechanics of the Bandai trading card series, utilizing artwork derived from Eiichiro Oda's long-running manga series to attract both players and franchise enthusiasts. The card portrays Yamato, a pivotal character from the Wano Country Arc, capturing their imposing stature and connection to the series' thematic lore.

The design of this specific card features high-contrast, dynamic illustration that reflects the distinct aesthetic identity established by the card game's art direction team. Upon its release, it became a focal point for collectors due to its rarity and the popularity of the character within the One Piece narrative. Its reception was largely defined by its utility in early competitive deck builds, which balanced its status as a sought-after collectible with its functional performance in the game's initial meta.
