Chant Grégorien - Vêpres De La Sainte-Trinité - Salut Du Saint-Sacrement

This recording was produced in 1972 by the Chœur des Moines de l'Abbaye Saint-Pierre de Solesmes under the direction of Dom Jean Claire. The Abbey of Solesmes has long been globally recognized as the primary center for the study and preservation of Gregorian chant, specifically the Solesmes method of rhythmic interpretation which became the official standard for the Roman Catholic Church in the early twentieth century.

The record was released by Decca as part of their commitment to documenting high-fidelity choral music. Dom Jean Claire, a scholar who succeeded Dom Joseph Gajard, sought to refine the choir's performance style to better reflect the liturgical fluidity of the chant. The release was well received within both ecclesiastical and academic music circles, praised for its technical clarity and the choir's ability to capture the meditative, monastic acoustic environment of the abbey.
