This recording features the virtuosic compositions of Niccolò Paganini, primarily known for his legendary violin technique, performed here by violinist Régis Pasquier and guitarist Oscar Ghiglia. Released on the prestigious French label La Voix De Son Maître, the record highlights the intimate and technically demanding interplay between the violin and guitar, a pairing that Paganini favored to showcase both his melodic sensibilities and his interest in multi-instrumental textures.

The album serves as a sophisticated contribution to the chamber music repertoire, specifically focusing on works like the Grande Sonate and the Opus 3 sonatas. These pieces were crafted to push the boundaries of their respective instruments, and the collaboration between Pasquier and Ghiglia is noted by critics for its technical precision and stylistic clarity, effectively capturing the dramatic flair inherent in Paganini's late-classical and early-romantic sensibilities.
