Where it came from
Lamina, released in 2022 by the independent imprint Kommando-84, represents a specific moment in the contemporary electronic underground. The project by the artist known as Pirx (2) emerged from a desire to blend cold industrial textures with intricate, rhythmic sound design, serving as a sonic exploration of architecture and synthetic environments. It is a work that prioritizes atmosphere over traditional structure, reflecting the artist's focus on minimalism and tonal density.
The aesthetic direction of the release, carrying the catalog number 224166, relies on a restrained visual language that mirrors the starkness of the music. While the release remains a niche entry within the Kommando-84 discography, it has been noted by listeners of ambient-industrial music for its technical precision. The design choices, characterized by muted palettes and geometric motifs, were intended to evoke the mechanical themes present throughout the album's composition.
